Feels that law ads are tacky, greedy

Barely one week after the tragic Metrolink crash that has had all of Moorpark reeling, I am shocked, dismayed and offended to see three large advertisements from law firms in the Sept. 19 issue of the Moorpark Acorn. Two of them are half page size, including a disturbing graphic photograph, and one is a full page ad that is glaringly apparent.

I'm not sure which word best describes my opinion of the Moorpark Acorn's decision to print these ads, but certainly insensitive, inconsiderate, disrespectful, tacky, and greedy all come to mind. I noticed that the announcement of locations for anyone affected by the tragedy to receive free counseling and support services was much, much smaller.

If you felt it was necessary to accept these ads, at least they could have been delayed a little longer until the shock has worn off. I expected this from the larger newspapers, but not the Moorpark Acorn which I consider more "hometown." As the victims and residents of Moorpark struggle to come to terms with this situation, we deserve better from you. Suzanne Wilson Moorpark
