In response to "Where did all the money go?" I would like to thank Ms. Busch for her interest in the candidates running for the school board, and I am very impressed with her community involvement and concern. More ... To Michael Abdelsayed's letter, "Give waste a rest," the old saying "ignorance is bliss" applies to this way of inconsiderate thinking. By all means let your dog poop all over your yard but there are city ordinances against your pet going anywhere else and you not being a responsible pet owner by picking up after him. More ... Responding to the letter of Sept. 5 "Let's just all get along" on the topic of walking your dog, zebra, lion, etc. on the sidewalk. The writer pulls the veteran card out of her hat, indicating our young men and women fought for the rights we have so people have access to the sidewalk. Apparently people with dogs or other animals don't. More ... Isn't it wonderful to know we have someone like Michael Abdelsayed, "Give waste a rest," living among us here in Moorpark. With an attitude like his on the community level is it any wonder why we struggle with peace in the world. More ... Boone Pickens, the Texas oil billionaire, in 1970 we imported 24 percent of our oil. Today it's nearly 70 percent and growing. As imports grow and world prices rise, the amount of money we send to foreign nations every year is soaring. More ... On Sat., Aug. 23 our neighborhood hosted its annual block party. Every summer, as tradition, we have this event on the last Saturday before the kids go back to school and once again I am pleased to say it was a great time for all who attended. More ... |
