Award-winning Iranian author to make presentation at college

Event is part of One Campus One Book program

The One Campus One Book program at Moorpark College will host accomplished Iranian poet and playwright Sholeh Wolpe.

She will do a public reading of her award-winning work at 5:30 p.m. Wed., Sept. 17, on the third floor of the Library/Learning Resources building on campus, 7075 Campus Road.

This year's One Campus One Book selection is "Persepolis" by Marjane Satrapi, a story of growing up in Iran in the 1970s and '80s

Iranianborn Wolpé is the author of "Rooftops of Tehran" and "Shame," a play in three acts. She is the associate editor of "The Norton Anthology of Modern Literature from the Muslim World."

Her poems, translations, essays and reviews have appeared in literary journals, periodicals and anthologies worldwide, and have been translated into several languages.

Wolpe has masters' degrees in radioTVfilm from Northwestern University and public health from Johns Hopkins University.
