Widow continues her efforts with Guide Dogs of America Foundation

      Ben Kendall and his wife, Sheila Scott-Kendall, didn't know July 29 would be their last day together. Kendall had seen his doctor earlier in the day to have his heart checked. Though the certified public accountant seemed in good health, he died unexpectedly that evening. The couple would have celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary on Aug. 11.

Siamese cats need foster homes
      Southern California Siamese Rescue, a nonprofit corporation, is seeking foster homes for abandoned Siamese cats. Foster families provide a spare room, food, litter and care. Any resident cats in the foster home should be indoor only and negative for feline HIV and feline leukemia. The rescue agency will pay for approved medical costs.
