Sheriff's Blotter
The following took place within incorporated areas of Moorpark:
On June 30 burglars entered someone's storage area and stole property. The incident took place in the 4500 block of Tierra Rejada Road.
When officers investigated a call on July 8 regarding possible narcotics activity in the 50 block of Poindexter Avenue, a person was found to be displaying signs and symptoms of using an illegal stimulant. A glasssmoking pipe was recovered from the man, and he was arrested. A second person present also showed signs of being under the influence. A search of that person's vehicle found an unlabeled prescription pill bottle containing white pills and the person was arrested. A third party seen fleeing the scene was later found hiding in the bedroom closet of a nearby residence. That individual was found to have a glass-smoking pipe in a backpack and was arrested.
On July 9 a person was stopped and cited at Los Angeles Avenue and Spring Road for possession of a butterfly knife and less than an ounce of marijuana.
A window was damaged on July 9 on Westcott Court.
On July 9 a thief stole property from a gas station in the 50 block of W. Los Angeles Avenue.
A man in Poindexter Park on July 10 was found to be under the influence of an illegal stimulant.
A person was cited on July 12 in the 14300 block of Clemson Street for being under the influence of a controlled substance.
On July 12 a person living in the 14300 block of Avenida Colonia was cited for excessive noise after having received a warning earlier that same day.
On July 13 a person was found to be intoxicated in public and unable to take care of himself. The incident took place in the 400 block of High Street.
Someone entered a private garage on July 13 on Elderberry Avenue and stole a person's wallet from a counter.
On July 13 a mailbox on Alandia Court was marked with white paint in such a way as to be considered a hate crime.
Incidents of auto vandalism or burglary took place at the dates and places indicated: June 28 in the 4100 block of Country Hill Road; July 1 in the 12500 block of Willow Hill Drive; July 5 on Reedley Street; July 12 on Avenida Colonia.
Incidents of graffiti/vandalism took place at the dates and places indicated: June 8 and July 6 in the 500 block of Spring Road; June 30 on Christian Barrett Drive near Spring Road; July 1 in the 200 block of Casey Road.
Incidents of a person driving without a license or a suspended license took place at the dates and places indicated: July 8 in an undisclosed area of Moorpark; July 9 on Los Angeles Avenue at Moorpark Avenue; July 10 at Los Angeles Avenue and Tierra Rejada Road; July 11 on Moorpark Avenue and High Street; July 12 on Los Angeles Avenue and Marketplace; July 13 in the 500 block of E. Los Angeles Avenue.
DUI incidents took place at the dates and places indicated: July 11 at Second and Bard streets; July 12 on Los Angeles Avenue and Park Lane; July 13 at Maya Circle at Miller Parkway.
The following took place in unincorporated areas of Moorpark:
Someone shot out a residential bathroom window using a BB gun on July 5 in the 4100 block of Santa Rosa Drive.
On July 8, a suspect in the 11000 block of Los Angeles Avenue was found to be in possession of a stolen car and was placed under arrest.
After an animal cruelty call on July 12, a man was pulled over by deputies at Oak Knolls Road near Rainey Road. Smelling of alcohol, he was given a field sobriety test, which he did not pass. He was arrested for shooting his girlfriend's dog and breaking a window at her home.
On July 14, an incident of driving without a license took place at Broadway and Stockton roads.
