Tuscany Square to open soon

Tuscany Square, a 68,000-square-foot shopping center, is nearing completion. The development is at the southwest corner of Los Angeles and Moorpark avenues.

The center, which broke ground in 2007, plans to celebrate its grand opening in November. Developers say it "will offer visitors a shopping experience with European flare."

Fresh and Easy Market, one of the center's anchor stores, is part of British grocery retailer Tesco's expansion into America. Tesco is in the process of opening 150 Fresh and Easy stores across the western United States.

The market is based on the European concept of neighborhood markets selling fresh, nutritious, pre-packaged meals to busy families and professionals.

The center's second anchor store is Walgreen's Drugs, which will offer a full-service pharmacy with a drive-through window.

Other tenants include several restaurants; Rabobank, a banking group originally from the Netherlands, and Max Bene, an 8,000-square-foot European salon and day spa.

David Rush, CB Richard Ellis retail broker, is handling lease negotiations for the remaining shop spaces at the center.
