Deputy is positive presence on campus
      Dep. Leonard Lopez, who spends his day on campus at Moorpark High School working with students, teachers and school administrators to ensure that the campus is safe, shared the results of his work at the school this year with those attending a Moorpark Unified School District board meeting Tuesday.

      A pilot program that puts student teachers from California Lutheran University to work in the classroom with professional educators at Flory Academy in downtown Moorpark has been a success, according to district and university leaders at a Moorpark Unified School district board meeting Tuesday.

Taxpayers will only support one bond measure at a time
      According to a survey that polled 400 voters in Moorpark, 59 percent of residents would support a proposal to extend the existing Bond Measure R that was passed in 2002, but they are not likely to endorse a new parcel tax on the same ballot.

Children's camps, adult classes on tap for summer enrichment
      Ventura College Community Education is accepting enrollments for a variety of camps and classes for children as well as continuing workshops, seminars and classes for adults throughout the summer. Children's science camps include Techno Robo Transformers, Zero G Rocket Science, Wild Animal Physics, Fun Park and CrazECool Electro Inventors.

Doctorate awarded
      Tara Jean Barker recently graduated from Rich ard Stockton College of New Jersey with a doctor of physical therapy degree. She is a 2002 graduate of Moorpark High School and the daughter of Gregory and Beverly Barker of Moorpark.
