During a vehicle collision, a car ran off the 118 Freeway on May 15 at 10:30 a.m.

According to police reports, Carmela Montero, 20, of Simi Valley, was driving a blue Toyota Scion westbound on the 118 west of Rocky Peak at an unknown speed. The Toyota traveled out of control across lanes where it collided with a 2006 Isuzu box truck driven by Michael Dunbar, 46, of Bell Gardens. The Isuzu traveled across the shoulder, through the guard rail and 300 feet down the right shoulder embankment.

Dunbar was extricated from the truck by the Ventura County Fire Department and taken to Holy Cross Hospital.
