Arts festival to showcase performers

The Moorpark Arts Festival will provide a number of live performances Sun., May 4 in the downtown area. All events are free and suitable for families.

The following groups will perform at the High Street Arts Center at 45 E. High St.: Conejo Players Children's Theater, 11 a.m.; Dancing Divas, 11:30 a.m.; Improv-a-sutra, Moorpark College student improv group, noon; Mary Mesick/Arroyo West Chorus, 12:50 p.m.; Pam Rossi Dance Ten, 1:30 p.m.; Ballet Folklorico, 2 p.m.; Cabrillo Musical Theater, 2:30 p.m.; and High Street Broadcast comedy radio show, 3 p.m.

These groups will perform at the Moorpark Community Center at 799 Moorpark Ave.: Blair and Rachel duet, 11:30 a.m.; Moorpark College Brass Ensemble, noon; Moorpark College Chamber Ensembles, 1 p.m.; Piano recital, 2 and 2:30 p.m.

Children's book illustrator Deborah Nourse Lattimore will appear at noon at the Moorpark City Library, 699 Moorpark Ave. Storytelling will take place at 1 and 2 p.m.

The festival will also include fine art, gourd art and photography exhibits as well as face painting and handson art activities for children.
