Collegians earn media award

Moorpark College multimedia students won the 2008 Media Arts Award Competition sponsored by the Multimedia and Entertainment Initiative of the California Community Colleges' Economic and Workforce Development Program.

The students' category was web design. They won by creating the site FOOD: Fundamentals of Oral Delights at www.myfirstscrapbook.com.

The team consisted of Mike Fuller, Ah-young Lee, Kevin Neilsen and Julie Pettit. The site was a class project in the Multimedia Interactive Design class taught by Ari Danesh.

Each team member received Adobe Creative Suite Web Premium software and a year's subscription to the software tutorial site www.lynda.com. The students plan to enter national competition.

The competition had more than 450 entrants in 14 categories and was judged by faculty and industry professionals.
