Gang members allegedly terrorize victims at billiards hall
Four gang members or associates were recently arrested for attempted carjacking, attempted kidnapping, attempted robbery, felony vandalism and street terrorism during an incident in the parking lot of Moorpark Billiards, 476 W. Los Angeles Avenue, on Jan. 20.
Two 18yearold female victims, one 19yearold female victim and several of their friends were playing pool at Billiards.
At about 12:30 a.m. the three victims went outside where two of the four suspects approached them. Two suspects told the victims that they had to leave because they were from Thousand Oaks (the third victim is from Simi Valley). The suspects made reference to the victims about being Moorpark gang members.
The victims returned inside the pool hall and told their friends. They decided to leave to avoid trouble.
As the victims got into their vehicle, suspect Lynda Gomez, 30, of Moorpark, drove up and blocked the victim's car with her car. Gomez then got out of her vehicle and approached the victim's car, holding a crowbar. She allegedly ordered the occupants to get out of their car because their car now belonged to her.
When the victims refused, Gomez began hitting the victim's vehicle with the crowbar, cracking the front windshield. Gomez then shattered the back windshield and the broken glass hit the people inside the car.
While Lynda Gomez was hitting the windows, Randy Gomez, 34, of Moorpark, allegedly reached into the back seat and tried to take a phone away from a victim who was trying to call the police for help. He told Angela Loza, 38, of Oxnard, to pull the occupant out of the back seat.
Loza reached into the car and began pulling the victim by the legs and telling her to hand over the phone. Both Loza and Randy Gomez ordered the other victims to get out of the car and that the car and all their property belonged to the suspects.
Loza and Lynda Gomez then approached another person who was outside the victim's car. Loza demanded the person's wallet and reached into the victim's pockets to find valuables. The victim pushed Loza away and walked east on Los Angeles Avenue.
Ventura County deputies arrived on the scene, responding to a call of a disturbance, and found Lynda Gomez near the location. She was arrested when the victims identified her. She was on parole, so an additional charge of violation of parole was added. She was booked into the Ventura County Jail with bail set at $20,000, along with a parole hold.
After a two-week investigation, three additional suspects were identified and arrested. Randy Gomez, Loza and Brianna Vigiani, 21, of Simi Valley, were arrested on Feb. 6 with bail set at $205,000, $150,000 and $130,000 respectively.
