Souplantation to open in Simi Valley

Souplantation, a Californiabased restaurant specializing in made-from-scratch soups, salads and bakery goods, has leased about 7,000 square feet of retail space in the Simi Valley Town Center at 1555 Simi Town Center Way.

The restaurant will accommodate approximately 231 guests and is scheduled for completion soon.

Souplantation will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2008. The restaurant offers affordable, allyou-can-eat prices and features salads showcased on a 55-foot salad bar that are prepared exhibition style every 20 minutes.

The Simi Valley location will be the 10th restaurant in the Los Angeles area and the first to feature the new prototype design of a "contemporary farmers market" look. The exterior was designed with earth tones to evoke a farmhouse feeling while the entry façade mixes raw materials such as wood, cement and stone with anodized aluminum accents. The interior has an exposed ceiling, dropped lighting, and high, barnlike windows to bring in natural light.

Souplantation was founded in 1978 in San Diego and currently operates 101 salad buffet-style restaurants across the United States. Restaurants are open daily for lunch and dinner and also for Sunday Morning Menu featuring a variety of breakfast favorites in addition to regular selections.
