      The latest of the steakhouses opened in our neighborhood is Holdren's Steaks & Seafood. This reasonably priced restaurant with its clublike atmosphere, dark wood shutters, brick tile walls and warm lighting is perfect for a business lunch or a nice dinner out.

Ring in the new year with Gilbert and Sullivan
      Comedy Tonight Productions will present "An Evening of Gilbert and Sullivan and More" at 7 p.m. Mon., Dec. 31 at the Washington Auditorium, 96 MacMillan St. in Ventura. The alcohol-free New Year's Eve celebration will feature dinner, a musical revue and a reception/dance until midnight.
