Forecast of snow, fun at Hometown Holiday The city of Moorpark will bring in the holiday season with winter weather and festivities at the annual Moorpark Hometown Holiday on Sat., Dec. 8 at Arroyo Vista Community Park, 4550 Tierra Rejada Road. The "Winter Wonderland" will provide more than 20 tons of snow to play in. Children may also make Christmas and Hanukkah craft and gift projects. They can test their skill at winterthemed carnival games including Trim the Tree and Fill Santa's Sleigh. Every player wins a prize. This year's festivities will feature a new Holiday Craft Faire. Vendors will offer holiday home decor, handmade soap, jewelry, stained glass, wood craft and more. Local performers will present music and dance. Santa Claus will share some of his favorite stories and be available for photo opportunities. Entertainment will culminate with the lighting of the city's community Christmas tree at 5 p.m. The craft fair will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Winter Wonderland will be open from noon until 4:30 p.m. Entertainment will be presented throughout the day. Admission to the craft fair and entertainment is free. Admission to Winter Wonderland is $5 per child, which includes entrance to the snow, two craft tickets and three game tickets.
