Active Adult PROGRAMS

The Moorpark Active Adult Center presents the following activities for seniors next month.

Events require a reservation and will meet at 799 Moorpark Ave. unless otherwise noted. Programs are free unless a donation is requested.

•A Country Western Holiday Line Dance Jamboree will be at 9:30 a.m. Mon., Dec. 3. All skill levels of dancers are welcome. No partner is needed. Instructor Elaine McGovern will lead participants through a series of dances.

Lunch will be served at noon following the dance, with a prize drawing for all dancers.

RSVP is needed for lunch. Suggested lunch donation is $2.25 for those age 60 and up and $5 for all others.

•The Holiday Showcase will be at 1 p.m. Wed., Dec. 12 in the Apricot Room of the Civic Center.

Performers include the Moorpark Active Adult Center Golden Stompers line dancers, Golden Pipers Recorder Group, Silver Belles Singing Trio and Fabulous Fingers sign language "singers." There will also be a singalong of holiday songs

The showcase is free, and reservations are not needed.

The performance will follow the December Birthday Luncheon at noon at the center. Reservations are required for the luncheon. Suggested lunch donation is $2.25.

•Anita Dahl will lead a free workshop on making holiday gift bags at 10 a.m. Thurs., Dec. 13.

All craft supplies will be provided. Participants can make one to two bags for their own use and one bag for the Home Delivered Meal Program.

•Free peripheral artery disease testing will be available to Ventura County residents age 60 and up on Fri., Dec. 14 by appointment only. No reservations are taken from voice mail.

The service is made possible by a grant from Ventura County Area Agency on Aging.
