Jackson announces a run for state Senate Former Assemblymember Hannah-Beth Jackson officially announced her candidacy for the state Senate in the 19th District. While Jackson served Ventura and Santa Barbara counties in the state Assembly, she worked with Democratic and Republican governors to get more than 60 of her bills signed into law. In response to pesticide drift incidents in 2000, which exposed students and teachers at Mound Elementary School in Ventura to Lorsban, Jackson introduced and passed Assembly Bill 947, which was jointly sponsored by the Ventura County Farm Bureau and the Environmental Defense Center, to protect children and others on school campuses from exposure to pesticides and other toxic substances. |
