Flu shots available

The Ventura County Public Health Agency recommends that in the coming flu season, everyone age 50 and over, and children ages 6 months to 5 years should get a flu shot.

The agency will partner with Moorpark College to administer free flu shots through a drivethrough clinic from 8 a.m. to noon Fri., Nov. 16 on the lower campus.

To reach the clinic, turn into the maintenance and operations driveway off Collins Road. Stay in the car. Staff and volunteers from the Moorpark College Nursing and Health Services Department will direct patrons to the clinic.

This year the flu shot will offer protection against A/Solomon Islands (new for this season), A/ Wisconsin and B/Malaysia strains of the flu virus. For more information about the latest flu protection, visit www.cdc.gov/flu.
