Family Resource Center to provide activities at Country Days The Moorpark Family Resource Center at 61 High St. will host hands-on family activities during Moorpark Country Days Street Festival on Sat., Oct. 6. The center will provide arts and crafts, painting, star crowns, hand-print tiles, face painting. star fishing and more. There will also be information booths on smart food ideas for children, proper car seat installation and lead poisoning. Clifford the Big Red Dog will appear in person to sign autographs at the buy one, get one free Scholastic Book Fair. Moorpark Family Resource Center is a First 5 funded program offering children's classes, parent workshops, resources and referrals to all children up to 5 years of age and their families. Activities in October will include infant massage classes, a baby shower for all local pregnant women, family nutrition classes, Wednesday drop-in play group, trick-or-treat around the center and dental services for children up through 5 years. All programs and services are free. The center also sponsors the Starbucks Reading Buddies Program for children 4 years and up where high school students read one-on-one to children.
