Sheriff's Blotter A locked car parked in the 200 block of Casey Road on Sept. 8 was burglarized. The car window was broken. Vandals spray-painted graffiti on the back wall of Longs drugstore on Sept. 6. Burglars entered a house under construction in the 10600 block of Citrus Road and attempted to remove a door sometime between Sept. 3 and 7. Someone stole property from a private residence on Sept. 6. The home is in the 14400 block of East Rutger Circle. Sometime between Sept. 6 and 7, someone moved a car parked on Flory Avenue just south of Third Street, then forced entry into the car and stole property. Someone broke into the Radio Shack in the 300 block of West Los Angeles Avenue on Sept. 7 and stole merchandise. A man ordered food from the deli at Ralphs grocery store on Sept. 6 and walked out the door without paying for it. He fled on foot when confronted by a store employee. The Community Christian Church in the 200 block of Moorpark Avenue was hit with gang graffiti on Sept. 6. A man entered the Kohl's store in the 800 block of Los Angeles Avenue on Sept. 6 and concealed a new pair of Nike shoes in his backpack. He left the store without paying for the merchandise. A wall in the 13200 block of Peach Hill Road was struck with graffiti sometime between Sept. 4 and 5. A locked car parked in the 200 block of High Street on Sept. 2 was broken into and burglarized. Another car parked in the 15100 block of Marquette Street was burglarized sometime between Sept. 4 and 5. Sometime between Sept. 4 and 5, a known suspect stole items from someone's wallet in the 300 block of Moorpark Avenue. Gang graffiti was spray-painted on city property in the 4500 block of Tierra Rejada Road on Sept. 4. Multiple colors of spray paint were used to vandalize a retaining wall along Millard Street sometime between Aug. 14 and Sept. 4. Estimated damage was set at $1,500. Sometime between Aug. 30 and Sept. 1, known suspects spraypainted graffiti on multiple walls behind Moorpark Laundry, Ralphs grocery and RE Recycling Center. The perpetrators were arrested at another location. On Sept. 3, vandals spraypainted gang graffiti on three residences as well as properties belonging to the city of Moorpark, Community Christian Church, Flory School, Phoenix School and the United Methodist Church. Thieves stole $700 in property sometime between Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 from a home in the 14300 block of E. Loyola Street. On Sept. 9 a man punched the glass door at the Chevron Gas Station at the corner of Spring Street and Los Angeles Avenue. The glass broke, causing damage exceeding $400. The man was arrested for felony vandalism. A known gang member on probation was found on Sept. 8 in a car at Millard and Second streets associating with another known gang member. He was arrested. At Mountain Trail Street and Honey Glen Court on Sept. 8, a man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. During a routine traffic stop on Los Angeles Avenue and Tierra Rejada Road on Sept. 6, a passenger riding in the car showed symptoms of being under the influence of illegal drugs. Upon investigation, a drug pipe was discovered in the car. A man stopped in his car at Everett Street and Walnut Canyon Road on Sept. 6 was found to be driving with a suspended license and under the influence of illegal drugs. Police discovered four youths smoking pot in a car parked on Delaware Street. Less than an ounce of marijuana was found, and the driver was released with a written promise to appear in court. On Sept. 3 a man was arrested in the 100 block of Moorpark Avenue for spraypainting gang graffiti in Moorpark. A man carrying a glass smoking pipe was arrested in the 1200 block of Walnut Canyon Road on Sept. 1.
On Aug. 30, a man was arrested in the 15700 block of East Arroyo Avenue for being under the influence of illegal drugs. |
