Annual Lobster Fest to serve up tasty crustaceans and steak
Kiwanis fundraiser will feature live blues band

Kiwanis Club of Simi Valley will serve its 13th annual Lobster Fest from 2 to 8 p.m. tomorrow, Sat., Aug. 18 at Rancho Tapo Community Park, 3700 Avenida Simi, Simi Valley.

This popular family event features whole Maine lobster flown in that morning and cooked by master chefs. Steak will be available for those who prefer it, and hamburgers or hot dogs for the kids.

The meal will also include salad, potato and corn on the cob. Beer, wine and soft drinks will be for sale.

Michael John and The Bottom Line blues band will provide entertainment.

Other activities include a children's play area, arts and crafts vendors, raffle prizes and silent auction.

Prices at the door are $40 for the lobster meal, $35 for the steak meal and $10 for hamburger or hot dog meal. Proceeds from the event will go to community charities.
