The Moorpark Active Adult Center will present the following activities for seniors this month.

Events require a reservation and will meet at 799 Moorpark Ave. unless otherwise noted. Programs are free unless a donation is requested.

•Joyce Barnett will give a cooking demonstration on making pot roast at 2 p.m. Tues., Aug. 14. Dessert will be provided at the end of the demonstration and tasting.

•Debbie MacIntosh will present an art lecture and slide show on the bronze art of Forest Lawn at 10 a.m. Mon., Aug. 27. This is the final session in a sevenmonth lecture series by the Forest lawn Museum's Speaker Series.

•Shawn McMaster, a member of the Magic Castle, will perform "Magic and Mayhem" with sleight of hand, illusions and laughs at 1 p.m. Wed., Aug. 29 in the Civic Center Apricot Room. The performance is free.

The program follows the Active Adult Center's August Birthday Luncheon served at noon in the Active Adult Center multipurpose room. The menu includes vegetable lasagna, salad and dessert. The suggested lunch donation is $2.25 for those age 60 and up and $5 for those under age 60. Meal reservations are needed.
