Chambers to host Mega Mixer at Reagan Library

Blending business and pleasure is as "American as apple pie" for two local organizations that promote and assist the business communities in Simi Valley and Moorpark.

The Moorpark and Simi Valley Chambers of Commerce will host a Mega Mixer event in the Air Force One Pavilion at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Thurs., Aug. 23.

"The Mega Mixer is a way of connecting the communities and businesses so they can gain more exposure," said Lisa Masotti, president and CEO of the Moorpark Chamber of Commerce.

More than 300 attended last year's Mega Mixer at the Moorpark Country Club.

"The idea began when Chambers realized that we had duplicate members- some of them belong to more than one Chamber- and also crossover territories," said Leigh Nixon, president and CEO of the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Since many businesses have a wide marketing area that may encompass several nearby communities, leaders of the two Chambers decided to have a joint mixer to bring all those communities together.

The public is invited to the event, where they can meet business

people who serve the area. Various booths will be featured, and food and drink will be available.

For more information about the mixer or to sponsor the event, contact the Simi Valley Chamber at (805) 526-3900 or the Moorpark Chamber at (805) 529-0322.

Admission is $5 per person. The event includes appetizers, no-host bar, door prizes and many opportunities to mix and mingle with local business owners.
