No need to litter

IKEA has it right. I just went to IKEA. They have a great idea for cutting down on the number of shopping bags filling our landfills and cutting their costs for purchasing those bags. They no longer give free bags. The policy is five cents for a regular throwaway plastic bag or 59 cents for a reusable big shopping bag.

I carry these big bags with me everywhere now. When at a cash register, I ask them not to put my purchases in a bag, just refill the cart and I will put them in bags that I have in the trunk of my car. Saves the landfills, rivers and streams, and also saves me having to store them. Yvonne DiFrancesco Moorpark
