Fire department hosts meetings on action plan

The Ventura County Fire Department will conduct several community meetings to inform the public and answer questions on the "Ventura County Wildfire Action Plan: Evacuate Early or Stay and Defend."

The meeting schedule is as follows:

Camarillo: 6:30 p.m. Thurs., July 26, Camarillo City Hall, 601 Carmen Drive.

Thousand Oaks: 6:30 p.m. July 30, Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.

Simi Valley: 7 p.m. Aug. 8, Simi Valley Library, 2969 Tapo Canyon Road

Ojai: 7 p.m. Aug. 15, Ojai Women's Club, 307 E. Ojai Ave.

At the meetings, fire officials will provide information on the plan and answer questions.

The campaign encourages citizens to make plans now to either evacuate early or take an active role in defending their homes when threatened by wildfires.

The "Ventura County Wildfire Action Plan" was distributed to residents on July 13 and is available online at www. fire.countyofventura.org.
