Council plans to build 'green'
New city hall designed to save energy, money

      As they encourage developers to build energy-efficient structures, city leaders said they're also "putting their money where their mouth is." At a City Council meeting last week, Moorpark officials committed to construct a "green" civic center.

Hydrogen cars start hitting the road

      The answer to our fuel problem is all around us: hydrogen, contained in the water that covers more than 70 percent of earth's surface. Many carmakers are looking at hydrogen-powered fuel cell systems as they seek ways to produce more fuel-efficient vehicles.

Kiwanis fundraiser puts local kids first

Jerry's kids need volunteers
      The Muscular Dystrophy Association's 2007 Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon will broadcast live on KCAL 9 in Los Angeles on Sept. 2 and 3. The local show airs from 6 p.m. Sunday to 6 p.m. Monday. The MDA is seeking telethon volunteers from civic and community service organizations.
