Sheriff's Blotter A man was arrested in the 100 block of Everett Street on June 30 after admitting that he and four other suspects vandalized a home on Walnut Street May 19, causing an estimated $3,000 in damages. A thief was caught in the 4200 block of Tierra Rejada Road July 8 after attempting to steal merchandise from the Vons supermarket. Burglars stole items from a car parked in the 600 block of Spring Road sometime between July 3 and 5. Vandals wrote graffiti on a victim's house in the 11800 block of Alderbrook Street sometime between July 7 and 8. The suspects also tagged two cars at the site. On July 6 at the Campus Hill Community Swimming Pool at Sophomore and University drives, vandals damaged the men's bathroom. A man living in the 100 block of Moorpark Avenue was the victim of a burglary on July 5, when someone stole items valued at more than $2,000 from his home. Sometime between July 3 and 5, vandals spray-painted graffiti on both the First 5 Family Center and the High Streets Arts Center in the 100 block of High Street. Damages exceeded $400 at both properties. Two vehicles parked near the intersection of Walnut Canyon and Cassey roads were vandalized July 6. One car's windshield was broken with a rock. Someone stole personal property from a business in the 300 block of Los Angeles Avenue July 4. Sometime between July 3 and 4, vandals spray-painted graffiti at several locations around Arroyo West School in the 4100 block of Country Hill Road. A known suspect attempted to withdraw $2,500 against a zero balance prepaid credit card at the Bank of America in the 500 block of Los Angeles Avenue on July 3. Thieves broke into a car parked in the 6500 block of Harvard Street sometime between July 2 and 3 and stole personal property. Burglars struck sometime between June 30 and July 2 at a business at the intersection of Ridgemark Drive at Shadow Wood Drive and stole property valued at more than $10,000. A property in the 500 block of Poindexter Avenue was vandalized sometime between June 29 and July 2 with spray-painted graffiti. Damages were estimated at $600. Two businesses in the 5100 block of Goldman Avenue were vandalized sometime between June 30 and July 2. Walls were spraypainted, as were four vehicles parked on the property. Damages were estimated at just over $4,000. Thieves entered a home in the 13100 block of Knotty Pine Street sometime between June 22 and July 1 and stole numerous electronic devices. A petty theft occurred at Chick's Sporting Goods in the 700 block of Los Angeles Avenue June 29. Thieves stole an airless paint sprayer from a locked container unit at TNR Painting and Drywall sometime between June 15 and 18 at an unspecified address in Moorpark. During a routine traffic stop at an unnamed location July 7, an officer noted the driver showed signs of illegal drug use. During a search of the vehicle, methamphetamines were found and the driver was arrested. A man and a woman whom police stopped at the intersection of Millard Street and Susan Avenue on July 3 were found to be in possession of a glass smoking pipe with residue, and two people were under the influence of an illegal drug. A man was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon in the 800 block Los Angeles Avenue July 2. |
