Area Housing Authority needs local applicants
      Applications are needed from Moorpark residents interested in serving as commissioner to the Area Housing Authority of the county of Ventura. The board of commissioners is responsible for the authority's policies, finances and operations. The appointment will be for a four-yeaterm.

      The Moorpark American Legion Auxiliary has selected Ayssa Borsuk as a representative to Girls State, a civics and government program that brings together high school girls from across the state to Sacramento to participate in civics education and mock government activities.
