Community invited to flag raising on July 4

A flag-raising ceremony will take place at 8 a.m. Wed., July 4 at Mesa Verde Middle School, 14000 Peach Hill Road, Moorpark.

The Moorpark American Legion and Boy Scout Troop 707 will perform the ceremony, which is sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Representatives from Holy Cross Catholic Church, the Moorpark City Council, the Moorpark Unified School District and the LDS church will participate in the community event

The program will last about 30 minutes and will be followed with light refreshments.
