Gang members kidnap resident Four Moorpark gang members used weapons to attack a motorist while he was stopped at the intersection of Second and Millard streets in Moorpark at 9:25 p.m. Wed., June 13. The suspects carjacked and kidnapped the Moorpark resident and ordered him to drive to Fillmore. The suspects held the victim at knifepoint and gunpoint during the ordeal, which ended when the man suddenly stopped the car and fled on foot near Fillmore. The suspects briefly chased the victim, but he was able to escape and call 911. Fillmore Senior Dep. Wendy Aulino found the victim's 2006 Mercedes parked near an apartment complex in Fillmore. Deputies and investigators acted on information that the suspects were possibly inside one of the apartments in the complex. Inside a dumpster outside the apartment, deputies found a replica Uzi submachine gun, a butcher knife and other evidence related to the crime. Three documented MPLS gang members were arrested for carjacking, kidnapping and for participating in a criminal street gang. Those arrested were Andres Martin Meza, 28, and Nicholas Guerrero, 20, both of Moorpark, and Michael David Esparza, 20, of Fillmore. The fourth suspect, Joey Meza, 28, the twin brother of Andres Meza, is still outstanding.
