The summer reading club kickoff is Sat., June 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Signups will continue throughout the summer. +The library encourages children ages 5 to 18 to enter a Fourth of July Art Contest. Youth may draw or paint artwork on the theme, "What Does the Fourth of July Mean to You?" All entries must be turned in at the library by 5 p.m. Sat., June 30. Entry forms are available at the library. The contest judge is Jean Amador, owner of the High Studio Art Gallery. The artwork will be hung in the library meeting room throughout July. Winners will be notified before July 4. +The library recently installed two drive-up drop-off boxes for patrons to return materials when the library is closed without the need to park or leave their cars. One box is for books only and the other box is for media materials such as DVDs and CDs. The boxes are located in the library parking lot across from the front doors. +The Moorpark City Library is at 699 Moorpark Ave. Regular hours are Mondays through Thursdays 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays 1 to 5 p.m. Closed major holidays For more information on any program, call the library at (805) 517-6370 or visit www.moorparklibrary.org. |
