Arts Council names juried award winners

The Ventura County Arts Council Visual Arts Committee announced the award winners in the "Celebrate the Earth" open juried art exhibit during the March 22 reception at the County Government Center in Ventura..

Receiving a cash award for the best representation of the theme was Wendy Halderman of Ventura, for her collage of recycled junk mail titled "Sick of More."

Helle Sharling-Todd of Ventura received the cash award for the best use of natural materials for her mosaic "Song to the Earth."

The exhibit continues through Wed., May 2 in the atrium lobby of the Hall of Administration, County Government Center, 800 S. Victoria Ave., Ventura. Gallery hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, closed weekends and holidays.
