Caltrans adding lanes to 118 Freeway
 | | IRIS SMOOT/Acorn Newspapers ROAD WORK- California Department of Transportation workers stand next to the 118 Freeway near the Rocky Peak exit, where a long-awaited widening project is about to begin. The November passage of the $19.9 transportation bond Measure 1B helped start the project, which was originally planned for 2003 but held back by a lack of funding. The widening will add an extra lane in each direction from Tapo Canyon Road to the Los Angeles County line, and is expected to take about three years. A groundbreaking ceremony took place on Thursday. |
