Students can create logo for 2007 Country Days
Students in grades 1 through 8 of the Moorpark Unified School District may submit drawings of their favorite memory of Hollywood. New prizes will be awarded this year, including a "Best of Grade" for all levels. The school contributing the most logo entries will be honored as the Community Grand Marshall for the parade. Every contestant will receive a participant certificate. The grand prize is $100 and the winning logo will be featured on all Country Days correspondence, as well as posted on for one year at www.countrydays.org. All entries, which must be hand drawn, should be on paper no large than 8.5 by 11-inches and contain the artist's name, grade level and school. Submission deadline is Fri., April 20. Artwork may be entered through their student's school office or mailed to Country Days Organizing Committee, PO Box 193, Moorpark, CA 93020. Entries may also be e-mailed as a jpg formatted attachment to info2007@countydays.org. "Our goal is to get the kids of Moorpark more involved" said Debbie Heaslip, Country Days chair. "The focus of the event is a family oriented event, one the entire community can enjoy and participate in." Adults in the community are encouraged to participate in event planning and operation. The allvolunteer Country Days Organizing Committee will meet the fourth Wednesday of each month until the event at the Moorpark Community Center, 799 Moorpark Ave., in either the Citrus Room or Apricot room. The first meeting will be 7 p.m. Wed., March 28. Country Days is a community event sponsored by the city of Moorpark, Chamber of Commerce, the Moorpark Acorn, VC Parent Magazine and other local organizations.
