Venture Crew invites young men, women

The Boy Scouts of America Venture Crew program is a coed organization for young men and women ages 14 to 20 that uses outdoor adventure such as camping, backpacking, sailing, horseback riding, rock climbing and service projects to build character, peertopeer bonds and leadership. Members of a Venture Crew will learn skills like team building, public speaking and time management.

Venture Crew 9642, sponsored by Simi Valley Elks Lodge No. 2492, will host a free barbecue lunch at 1 p.m. Sun., March 18 at the Elks Lodge 1561 Kuehner Drive, Simi Valley.

The open house is for families with young adults in Moorpark, Simi Valley and surrounding communities to learn more about Venturing's positive youth development program. Venturing leaders will share a slide show and presentation of the program.
