Religious group selects most uninspiring films of 2006 Movieguide, in partnership with the Christian Film & Television Commission, recently announced the Rotten Banana Awards for the 10 Most Unbearable Movies of 2006. "We chose these movies because of their antiAmerican, antiChristian worldviews," said Ted Baehr, founder and editor of Movieguide.org. "Not only does each one have a negative message, most of them performed poorly at the box office. If Hollywood executives want to stay out of the red, they need to understand that movies with uplifting, positive and redemptive themes consistently outperform all others at the box office." The awards for 2006 are: Pontius Pilate Award to "The Da Vinci Code," Karl Marx Agitprop Award to "The Ant Bully," Benedict Arnold Award to "Letters From Iwo Jima," Shirley MacLaine Lunacy Award to "The Celestine Prophecy," Best Case for Closing the Borders Award to "Borat," Outstanding Secular Bias Award to "Jesus Camp," Red State Slander Award to "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby," Osama Award to "V for Vendetta," Reverse Racism Award to "CSA: The Confederate States of America," and Ozzy Osborne Drug Stupor Award for "Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny." Movieguide is dedicated to redeeming the values of the entertainment industry by influencing industry executives and informing the public about the influence of the entertainment media.
