Apricot Jam is just two months away

Start the countdown now for Apricot Jam 2007, scheduled to take place April 14-15 at Arroyo Vista Park in Moorpark.

This is the 10th year for the soccer tournament. There will be 88 teams participating, representing cities from all over Southern California.

More than 1,100 players, ranging in age from 9 to 14 years, including their families, coaches and referees, will be in town all weekend long.

Boys' and girls' divisions U10 through U-14 will compete on Sat., April 14, to cinch a playoff spot the next day. Winners in each division will be presented with a trophy.

There will be several Moorpark teams participating this year in the various divisions. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the local teams.

A concession stand will be available with a barbecue, snacks and drinks. Proceeds go toward Moorpark AYSO, the city's largest sports organization registering more than 1,300 kids during regular-season play.

For more information, visit the Moorpark AYSO website at www.moorparkayso.org, or contact director Michael Head at tournaments@moorparkayso.org.
