Highway 23 closures set

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will temporarily close at night one lane each north and southbound on State Route 23 between Tierra Rejada Road to Sunset Hills Boulevard.

The closure will be from Sun. Jan. 7 through Thurs. Jan. 11, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. for paving. Closures are weather permitting and subject to change.

Security Paving is the contractor on this $65 million project, which will add a new lane in each direction on SR 23 from the 101 Freeway to Los Angeles Street in Moorpark.

The project is estimated for completion in summer 2010.

Motorists are reminded to "Slow For The Cone Zone" to prevent accidents.
