Vandals displayed too much spirit on July 29 in the 11800 block of Alderbrook Street when, after scratching a car's rear bumper with a sharp object, they bleached the words 'I love UCLA' into the driveway.

Thieves entered an open garage sometime between July 27 and 28 in the 11200 block of Bentcreek Street and stole bicycles.

A known suspect entered a resident's garage sometime between July 27 and 28 in the 100 block of Los Angeles Avenue. The perpetrator riffled through the glove box and defecated in the car.

A thief came onto private property sometime between July 24 and 25 in the 6500 block of Pinnacle Court and stole dry cleaning which was hanging on a laundry hook on the front door.

Someone broke a window on July 28 in the 400 block of Los Angeles Avenue. The suspect used spark plugs to break the glass, and then entered the business. The burglar left without taking anything.

On July 28, someone punctured three tires of a vehicle parked at Mill Valley Road, south of Peach Hill Road.

On July 26, two thieves broke into a storage container at an unspecified address and stole property.

Vandals destroyed property in the 100 block of Poindexter Drive on July 25. Total damage was estimated at less than $400.

Someone stole gasoline from company vehicles parked in the 11900 block of Discover Court sometime between July 24 and 25.

On occasions between March 1 and July 25 in the 4300 block of Fairbrook Lane, known suspects stole money from someone by paying for merchandise with bad checks.

Thieves stole items from a man's porch sometime between July 23 and 24 in the 11200 block of Bentcreek Road.

On July 24, burglars forced entry into a locked trailer in the 8700 block of Grimes Canyon Road. The suspects stole items and caused damages estimated at $300.

Sometime between July 23 and 24, someone threw a rock through the window of a car parked in the Spring Road parking lot on the 600 block. The thief then stole personal property from inside the car.

Vandals spray-painted graffiti on the gymnasium and science buildings at Chaparral Middle School in the 200 block of Poindexter Road sometime between July 20 and 23.

Another property in the 500 block of Poindexter Road was vandalized with graffiti sometime between July 20 and 21.

At the 14800 block of Campus Drive, on July 23, someone broke a car window to gain access to a CD case inside.

On July 22, in the 14900 block of Reedley Street, someone scratched letters into a car window, causing about $400 in damage.

Thieves entered a closed garage sometime between July 13 and 21 in the 10700 block of Hill Drive and stole property.

The Rite Aid store in the 3900 block of Spring Street was the scene of shoplifting on July 21, when thieves carried several different beverages out of the store without paying for them.

Vandals sprayedpainted graffiti on walls at Mesa Verde Middle School in the 1400 block of Peach Hill Road on July 20.

A thief used a stolen credit card to pay for an Internet purchase made on July 18 in the 5100 block of North Commerce Avenue.

A driver of a car involved in an accident on July 26 in the 12400 block of James Weak Avenue was identified as being both the cause of the accident and under the influence of alcohol. He could provide no driver's license, nor proof of insurance, and was subsequently arrested.

During a traffic stop on July 26 at Poindexter Avenue and Moorpark Avenue, a driver was arrested for both an outstanding warrant and possession of "tar" heroin.
