Outer space adventure
     IN TRAINING- Garrett Rios, 7, of Moorpark, jumps rope to exercise as astronauts do to prepare for space missions during Flory Academy of Science and Technology's astronaut simulation program on Friday. Students also learned about constellations, bounced around in "moon shoes," and gathered moon rocks. This is the second year for this event since Flory Academy became a NASA explorer school.

Open house, auction at Chaparral
      <!-- Page Number: 22--> Chaparral Middle School will host Showcase of the Stars from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thurs., May 10 at the campus, 280 Poindexter Ave., Moorpark. The evening will include a teacher open house, art, music, poetry, theme-basket raffles, food and a live auction. The public is invited.
