GOP candidate debate closed to the public
      Due to limited space and security restrictions, the general public will not be able to obtain tickets for the GOP Presidential Candidates Debate scheduled for Thurs., May 3 at the Ronald Regan PresidentiaLibrary in Simi Valley. The public will be able to watch exclusive television coverage of the debate on MSNBC from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

      Moorpark Chamber of Commerce officials invite the community to nominate deserving individuals, organizations and businesses for the Top Ten Community Awards, which will be presented Thurs., May 10 at the Moorpark Country Club. The annual event, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., will feature a luncheon and an award ceremony.

Kids have a romp with Ronald
     CLOWING AROUND- The visit from Ronald McDonald at the grand opening of Moorpark's second McDonald's restaurant off Collins Drive near Moorpark College came with fun, games, laughs and prizes. Ronald entertained the children with a magic show and activities, including the large cube toss, above, despite high winds. Left, Wyatt Lumsden, 5, was Ronald's "little helper" on stage. All the children were able to meet and shake Ronald's hand and have a picture taken with him.

      There will be a Ventura County Republican Party mixer at 7 p.m. Wed., April 25 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Air Force One Pavilion. Cyrus Nowrasteh, producer and writer of "The Path to 9/ 11," will speak, and local elected Republican officials will attend.
