Credit union sponsors academic activities
      The Ventura County Office of Education has announced a partnership with County Schools Federal Credit Union for sponsorship of the Ventura County Mock Trial and Academic Decathlon competitions. The credit union has donated $35,000 for two competitions.

Professional musician strikes up the band

      Kids who study music do well in every area of their lives, believes Daniel O'Brien, the new band director at Oak Park High School. "You can learn many things through music. Through ensembles you learn teamwork; you can also realize individual achievement," said O'Brien, a Moorpark resident.
