Update from the Pflaumers

Happy holidays everyone- it's Breanna Pflaumer with an overdue update.

Well, let me start with, I had the most amazing Sweet 16 birthday, ever! It started with three days at Disneyland. My Auntie Toni and I had to get our "Goofy" hats, and my mom had her "Dumbo" ears from our last visit to Disneyland. One highlight was the incredible fireworks show. It was definitely breathtaking, and one I will never forget.

Then to my surprise, my parents arranged for an open house birthday party the Saturday after my actual birthday. Another surprise was the visit of my Grandpa Frank and Grandma Carol. Wow, so many people came. It really warmed my heart to know that there are so many people who care about me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

It took me a week and a half to open my presents and cards. As you can imagine, it has taken me so long to write all my thank-you notes. If I missed anyone it was not intentional; I was so overwhelmed. I think I might have received over 300 birthday wishes.

November was a busy month. We spent Thanksgiving with my Grandpa Harry and Grandma Betty in Cambria. It is always so beautiful up there. We ate so much.

I also had two MRIs (brain and spine) along with a PET scan. I came down with a terrible cold and had a somewhat mild seizure. However, it didn't require a hospital stay. Thank goodness! It just scared my family.

The brain MRI came back as no change, which is good- no growth. The spine MRI appears to have greatly improved since the last MRI in August. Yippee! As for the PET scan, it shows some new growth in the right frontal lobe. We are requesting another doctor's visit at Childrens Hospital to get a second opinion.

Please continue to keep me in your prayers and hope for good news. I know from the past the power of prayers really does make a difference. I continue to fight this horrible disease, and I look forward to the day the doctors say to me, "Breanna, you are cancer free!" That will truly be a day of celebration!

I would like to wish all of you the most wonderful and safe holiday season, and may 2007 bring joy, health and happiness to one and all. May God bless everyone!

Breanna
