Fortnightlies discuss homesteading women

A look at women who homesteaded California will highlight the luncheon meeting of the Moorpark Women’s Fortnightly Club at 10 a.m. Fri., Jan. 12 at Holy Cross Church, 13955 Peach Hill Road, Moorpark. Reservations are due by noon, Jan. 10, by calling Tami Gresiak at (805) 529-5439.

Gal’s Night Out, for women who can’t meet during the day, will be 7 p.m. Mon., Jan. 22. For reservations, call Mayra Cummings at 529-4858.

The Moorpark Women’s Fortnightly Club, more than 100 years old with more than 100 members, welcomes all women. The club emphasizes community projects, but also offers special-interest groups, such as bunco and crafts.
