Plays, music, dance coming to Moorpark College

Moorpark College will present the following performances in December in the Performing Arts Center on campus. For more information on any event or to order tickets, call the box office at (805) 378-1485 or e-mail MCBoxOffice@vcccd.edu.

The Original One Acts are short plays written, directed, designed and acted by students in the Studio Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 through 9 and 1:30 p.m. Wed., Dec. 6.

Sonic Contrasts, an intimate mixed chamber group of piano, winds and strings, shares the stage with the Wind Ensemble and the Community Orchestra at 8 p.m. Fri., Dec. 8 on the Main Stage. Directors are James J. Song (Chamber), Richard Kravchak (Wind Ensemble) and Steve Burch (Community Orchestra).

Winter Celebration is a festive program of choral and instrumental music to celebrate the holiday season performed by the Concert Choir, Vocal Ensemble and Chamber Ensembles at 8 p.m. Sat., Dec. 9 on the Main Stage. Directors are James J. Song, James Stemen and JoAnne Wasserman.

Evening of Jazz is a presentation of small ensemble to big band selections directed by Robert Aguilar and Steve Burch at 8 p.m. Tues., Dec. 12 on the Main Stage.

Dance Kaleidoscope is a spectacular production choreographed and performed by students and guest artists at 7 p.m. Mon., Dec. 18 on the Main Stage. An Evening of Dance I and

II presents student final performances in a variety of dance styles at 7 p.m. Tues. and Wed., Dec. 19 and 20 on the Main Stage.

Ticket prices for Main Stage events are $15 adults, $9 students and seniors over 60, and $8 children, staff and matinee. Studio Theatre events are $8 evening and $6 matinee. Group rates are available. Parking is $1.
