The Moorpark Kiwanis Breakfast with Santa offered a jolly holiday treat for many local children and their parents last Saturday.

The Kiwanis treated about 300 families to a breakfast donated by the McDonald’s restaurant on Los Angeles Avenue and Spring Street.

Families lined up to see Santa, portrayed by Moorpark resident David Safford, as the children waited to receive ageappropriate gifts.

The Boys & Girls Club gymnasium was decorated for the occasion and many volunteers were on hand to assist.

“It’s a very good experience and we’re privileged they get to do that here,” said Carmen Martinez, who attended the holiday event with her two young children.
