Art gallery sponsors fundraiser
High Studio will present an auction fundraiser to support Caring for Children in Need/the Baraka Foundation, Sat., Nov. 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. at 11 E. High St., Moorpark.
Ceramic masks will be auctioned from the ongoing opening exhibit "International Affairs, Husbands and Wives" on view at the High Studio Gallery. Proceeds from the 77 mask sales, after artists costs, will go directly to the Baraka Foundation.
The goal is to raise $64,000 to build eight new primary school classrooms for the children of Makobe in Shimba Hills, Kenya, Africa, including 21 orphan girls of Makobe Children's Home. A volunteer staff governs the Makobe Children's Home, so every dollar given will be donated to helping children in need. Direct donations are accepted as tax deductible.
