Convention to provide information about cancer treatments

The Cancer Control Society, a nonprofit educational organization, will sponsor the 34th annual Cancer Convention from Sat. to Mon., Sept. 2 to 4 (Labor Day weekend) at the Sheraton Universal Hotel, 333 Universal Terrace Pkwy., Universal City. The event's focus will be on providing attendees with the latest information on the prevention and control of cancer through nutrition, tests and nontoxic alternative therapies.

More than 50 speakers from the fields of nutrition and holistic medicine will address attendees. Five movies will be screened and there will be 80 exhibits. Many cancer survivors will share stories of their successful courses of treatment.

Speaker subjects include "Twenty Ways to Prevent Cancer," "Breast Cancer Protection," "Beating Cancer with Nutrition" and "Remedies to Prevent Colon Cancer."

Admission is $35 per day. Hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
