Sign up for YMCA swim classes

Sign-ups for fall group and private swim classes will be accepted in person tomorrow, Sat., Aug. 19 at the Conejo Valley YMCA, 4031 N. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks, according to Erin Pierik, YMCA aquatics director.

Sign-ups will be taken outside the pool lobby. Classes take place in the YMCA's indoor heated swimming pool.

Lessons are available for various age groups and will meet twice a week (Mondays/ Wednesday or Tuesdays/Thursdays) for four weeks. Four to six students make up each class.

"Parent and tot" classes are designed for parents with infants as young as six months.

Private lessons for all ages, including adults, are also available.

Priority registration is from 9 to 11 a.m. for those who've enrolled in swim programs within the last year. Open registration is from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

For those who cannot attend the swim sign-up day, the Y will host open registration on Wed., Aug. 23.

The Y will also offer swim team and water polo in the fall.
