Outrage at animal training program

The exotic animals at Moorpark College's animal training program are subjected to constant handling and interaction with people and forced to participate in activities that may go entirely against their nature ("Author explores magic of training zoo," June 9). Using animals as training tools and trying to pass it off as beneficial for the animals is transparently self-serving.

Any student graduating from this course should be awarded a certificate in animal cruelty. Jennifer O'Connor People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals Norfolk, VA
