Fortnightly club announces art winners
The Moorpark Women's Fortnightly Club announces the winners of the organization's annual Student Art Fair in March, in which students submitted 500 pieces of artwork.
Winners from the fair went on to compete in the Tierra Adorada District Fine Arts Festival.
At the district competition, Moorpark High School senior Erin Franco won first place.
Second-place winners in the various categories were: Peach Hill first-grader Haley Winters, Peach Hill second-grader Luke Reisig, Peach Hill fourth-grader Cynthia Zook, and Moorpark High junior Chelsea Fenerin.
Third-place winners were Walnut Canyon second-grader Andrew Severts and Peach Hill fourth-grader Jordan Light
Honorable mentions went to Peach Hill kindergartener Michelle Butman, Campus Canyon third-grader Christine Bohnert, and Campus Canyon fourth-grader Kaelyn PugedaRomero.
The club members also took 12 first-place wins in the district festival, along with five secondplace awards and four thirdplace ribbons.
The group recently earned 18 awards, including 16 first place, at the Tierra Adorada District convention on April 7 and 8. The district covers the tri-county area.
